SPECIAL COURSE

„German, where it´s spoken“

performed by TYSCOM Munich

Duration:

3-4 weeks, Mitte/late May to Mid-June

(At the latest before the end midsommar)

THE FOLLOWING MODULES DETERMINE THAT COURSE:

Actual applied geography /conversation:
Working in small groups, we understand important issues from social, economic and cultural life based on current texts.
To stimulate the linguistic activity of the participants they read authentic texts in preparation for reports and little presentations.
Discussions full of energy will follow.

Culture of daily life and manners:
Participants will gain insight into everyday life in Germany.
You become familiar with the role play important everyday situations, and you´ll learn about the cultural differences between your country and Germany.

Project work:
This module is particularly important for this course. Participants should take the opportunity to come directly in contact with Germans.

They will do short “interviews”  to be up-to-date with actual topics. These interviews are written down and presented in class the following days.
(The research for the project work will be placed in the afternoons).

Linguistic Structures:
This language work in the strict sense refers to mainly grammatical topics and a written short essay.
Participants should receive greater security, especially in grammatical skills that arise in everyday speech.

Interpretation exercises on contemporary literary texts:
Based on a selection of German literary texts, students learn how to acquire interpretations. A teacher gives instructions and interpretation assistance.

Mentalities and regions in Germany:
Our expert provides the participants with a new perspective on the complex and very different mentalities in different regions in Germany.

Study visits with discussions:
We visit a modern languages / scientific school and take part in classes. An  afternoon with teachers and students completes the program.

Cultural Historical tour:
At the beginning of the course, students learn the historical centre and the city life of Munich. After the citytour - with a variety of cultural and historical information - there is time to relaxing in a traditional coffee or a beer garden.

Sociable afternoon, professors and guests:
Every week and at the end of the course there will be a meeting in the afternoon - with teachers and guests of our institute - another opportunity to talk about interesting news and share experiences.

Weekend excursions:
Every weekend we organize a guided day trip to our cities in the neighborhood - eg Augsburg, Regensburg, Passau, Nuremberg. One of the highlights is the journey to the salt mine in Berchtesgaden combined with a visit to Salzburg.
The students will be prepared for these trips and of course accompanied by a teacher.

Exam and diploma course:
At the end of the course - as specified by the school – there will be a language test. All participants will also receive a course diploma of TYSCOM.
